The Work & Lineage
The work is grounded in the Relationship Recovery Process (RRP)...

About RRP
This work is rooted in the Relationship Recovery Process model (RRP), developed by Amanda Curtin and expanded upon by Patrick Teahan (patrickteahan.com) RRP is based on the understanding that our earliest relationships create the blueprint for how we experience ourselves and others.
The work emphasizes identifying childhood conditioning, recognizing emotional wounds that continue to influence the present, and developing a compassionate and truthful relationship with the younger parts of ourselves.
Susan B. Hagen participated in the Relationship Recovery Process with Amanda Curtin for seven years as both a participant and intern, and has continued to use and teach these principles throughout her professional work. She is honored to be part of the lineage of this transformative approach and to guide others in their own journey toward greater self-understanding and healthier relationships.
Training and Lineage
My work is rooted in the Relationship Recovery Project (RRP), a model developed by Amanda Curtin, and expanded upon by Patrick Teahan (Patrickteahan.com) which explores how our earliest relationships shape the way we experience ourselves and others today.
I spent seven years studying and training directly with Amanda Curtin—as both a participant and an intern—immersing myself in the work of understanding childhood conditioning, unresolved wounds, projection, and the process of developing a more compassionate and truthful relationship with ourselves.
For over two decades, I have continued to facilitate this work with individuals and groups, carrying forward the core principles of the Relationship Recovery Project while bringing my own years of experience, insight, and presence to each group I lead.
The work continues to evolve through a growing community of people dedicated to healing family-of-origin wounds, including the broader reach of the Relationship Recovery teachings through educators such as Patrick Teahan, who has helped bring awareness of these concepts to a larger audience.

My Approach
I believe that lasting change happens not simply through insight, but through experience. Many of us understand intellectually why we struggle in relationships, yet we continue to react from old wounds, familiar defenses, and deeply conditioned patterns that began in childhood.
My approach combines education, self-inquiry, emotional awareness, and compassionate exploration. In a safe and supportive group environment, participants learn to recognize their triggers, understand the younger parts of themselves that are seeking attention, and develop the ability to respond from their adult self with greater clarity, compassion, and choice.
This work is not about blaming our families or staying stuck in the past. It is about honestly understanding where our patterns originated so we can release what no longer serves us and create more authentic and fulfilling relationships with ourselves and others.
An Invitation
If you feel called to explore this work, I invite you to complete the intake form to learn more about the six-month group experience and determine whether it feels like the right fit for you.
Beginning this journey takes courage. You do not need to have everything figured out before you start. The first step is simply a willingness to become curious about your story, your patterns, and the possibility of a different way of relating to yourself and those you love.
I look forward to connecting with you.
